The 4.5 hour figure is the maximum duration for the battery and is based on ideal test conditions from the battery’s manufacturer. As with any battery powered device, real world values will vary. Please note that advanced features such as Real-Time Traffic and Bluetooth do require additional battery power. To optimize battery performance:

1.    Limit Bluetooth® usage.  When your device is connected to a Bluetooth enabled phone, the power consumption is dramatically higher.

2.    Adjust the screen brightness to a lower level.   This can be modified through Basic Settings.  Note that you have separate values for Day and Night usage.

3.    When you will not be using your 7100 for an extended period of time, be sure to fully power-down the system by pressing and holding the Power button for 10 seconds.  To continue using the 7100, power your device back up by pressing the Power button again for 10 seconds.

4.    When possible, connect your device to a NAVIGON-approved power adapter to insure that your device operates as designed.
